As a protocol Veronica was created to help Exit screen for the ‘suitability’ of attendees at Exit Practical Information Workshops.
For many years, Exit has said that those attending Exit meetings must be aged 50 years or over and be of sound mind.
The ‘sound mind’ criteria was always established on entry, via qualitative indicators of capacity.
Veronica allows for greater investigation of a person’s mindset, based on their reflection of their actions, ability to show insight via consideration of others in their immediate social/ familial circle and appreciation of their autonomy in any end of life steps they may choose to take.
